Clean Sweep is a full service janitorial company. While large enough to handle the toughest cleaning assignments, it is still able to give the personal attention and service which only a locally owned firm can provide. Our Staff consists of:
Madeline is our receptionist, store manager, personnel manager, as well as chief cook and bottle washer. She is a graduate of Texas A & M University (foot ball season is very interesting!) and has been with us since 1998. Madeline is the one you would normally talk to if you telephoned Clean Sweep Janitorial.
However, almost anyone might answer the phone as we are rather an informal firm (you could not miss the fact that half of Madeline's office has been converted into a nursery for her son Kelby and daughter Hannah - who have the run of the building).
There is a big difference between what we see at night, and what the Building Manager sees in the bright light of day! Marge's job is to make sure that the two perceptions agree. Her title is that of "Account Consultant", "Ombudsman", or simply "Public Relations". Whatever term you use to explain Marge's job, the simple truth is that we know that if we don't keep our customers happy, we are not going to keep their business! And that in a nut shell is Marge's job!
When she is not calling on our accounts to make sure we are doing the job we are supposed to do, you would most likely find her talking on the phone or playing with her grandson, Kelby.
Joaquin is our "go to" guy who handles all day cleaning emergencies. In his "spare time", he also is in charge of the maintenance of our janitorial equipment and vehicles, and visits all janitorial accounts on a monthly schedule to perform special cleaning tasks such as window cleaning, charging Rest Room air fresheners, and other specialized tasks.
Jim founded The Clean Sweep Company in the Summer of 1967. At the time he was teaching Business Management classes at the University of Texas. One day, during class, a student asked him "what it was like in real life?"
Jim realized he hadn't the foggiest idea what "real life" was all about - he had no practical experience - only book knowledge! That very afternoon he formed Clean Sweep to find out first hand what it like in real life! Within the first year, Clean Sweep was taking so much of Jim's time that he had to make a decision - teach or do.
He had quickly found a big difference between pure theory and trying to use that theory to run a business. So, for the past 30 plus years Jim has tried to learn how to run a business. Jim is still learning - and enjoying every minute of it! Rest assured, however, if/when he returns to teaching and if/when he is asked "what is it like in real life", he will be in a position to give a first hand answer!
